Breakfast Club
Breakfast club at Merebrook Infant School is run by Treetop childcare. They open at 07:45 and run until 08:30 when children are delivered to their classrooms. If you wish to make a booking please see their website https://www.treetopchildcaremk.com/
After School club
15:25 – 18:00
Cost £11.50
The after school club is run by Emerson Valley School directly. Your child will be walked up to Emerson Valley and looked after by staff members that work directly for the school. We make sure that the clubs run seamlessly and congruently with the 5DT Trust rules, values and expectations. We know that our children will need some time after and before school to be themselves and it is not a continuation of academic education and so we lead activities in which the children can express and enjoy themselves. We also support with homework where appropriate and will give the children the opportunity to complete this. You will need to collect your child from the Emerson Valley School reception when you chose to collect them.
We are lucky at the moment that parents are able to book the sessions they want for afterschool clubs and there is no need to book an entire term in advance. (This may change in the future if the clubs get full.)
At after school club there are a variety of activities offered. Children can play games, complete craft activities, finish homework, read, use iPads, watch TV, sing Karaoke, role play, play outside or play games in the hall. We vary the activities depending on the needs of the children on the day, the weather, the number of attendees and whether it is a theme day.
There is a healthy snack served. This might be things like open sandwiches or wraps with cheese, ham or egg mayonnaise, vegetable battons, fruit platters or yoghurts. Sometimes there is hot food available like potato wedges or pasta bake. In the hot weather the children have enjoyed ice lollies. All food follows the schools healthy eating guidelines.
Children will only be handed over to those named on Arbor for collection.
Late collections and fees
The club closes at 18:00. If you are late collecting your child you will be charged at £5 for every 5 minutes that you are late collecting. If you are late on more than 2 occasions in a term your child’s bookings may be cancelled and any outstanding monies (less the late fees) will be refunded to you. We reserve the right to update this condition at any time. We will notify all parents with future bookings if we do update it, and you would have the right to withdraw your child from future sessions with a full refund.
